The Homa Bay Waterfront Amphitheatre is the crown jewel of the county’s Lakefront Development Programme, envisioned to transform the Lake Victoria shoreline into a dynamic hub of culture, commerce, and community life. Designed as an open-air performance and events venue, it blends modern architecture with the natural beauty of the lakefront, creating a unique space where art meets nature. With its sweeping, tiered seating and panoramic water views, the amphitheatre can host grand music extravaganzas to the poetic tunes of the waves and water, cultural festivals, theatrical performances, and community celebrations. Its scope includes state-of-the-art sound and lighting, landscaped public areas, and accessibility features to ensure inclusivity. Kabondo West Ward Office
The Kabondo West Ward Office is a flagship devolution project designed to bring essential county services closer to the people. Once complete, the office will serve as a one-stop center for all devolved county functions, enabling residents to access services locally without having to travel to the county headquarters. The facility includes dedicated spaces for the Ward Administrator and area MCAs to effectively serve their constituents. By housing government operations within the ward, the project is set to save the county millions in rental costs, while significantly improving service delivery, transparency, and citizen engagement at the grassroots level.

Kwabwai Ward

he Kwabwai Ward Office is a key devolution initiative aimed at delivering county services directly to the people of Kwabwai. The new office will house the Ward Administrator and provide workspace for area MCAs, making it easier for residents to access vital government services without traveling to the county headquarters. Kabuoch North Ward
The construction of Ogingo bridge connecting Kongoo to Okota in North Kabuoch Ward.
The Ogingo Bridge Project is a critical infrastructure development aimed at enhancing connectivity and accessibility between Kongoo and Okota villages in North Kabuoch Ward, Homa Bay County. For decades, residents have faced challenges crossing the seasonal river, especially during rainy seasons when flooding cuts off transport, hinders access to schools, health facilities, markets, and delays emergency response. The project involves the construction of a modern, durable bridge designed to withstand seasonal floods and ensure year-round safe passage for pedestrians, cyclists, motorcyclists, and vehicles.

Genowa Fundi Mang'ula Scholarship
The Genowa Fundi Mang'ula Initiative is a strategic youth empowerment program by the Homa Bay County Government, designed to combat unemployment and foster sustainable economic development. The project's primary goal is to equip unemployed and underemployed youth with practical, market-driven vocational skills. The scope of the initiative involves providing fully-funded, six-month training scholarships to deserving youth across all 40 county wards. The program offers hands-on training in six key trades—including mechanics, welding, masonry, carpentry and fashion design—delivered through 19 local vocational training centers. The intended impact is to create a new generation of skilled artisans and entrepreneurs. Upon graduation, participants are equipped with essential start-up toolkits to launch their own businesses, enabling them to achieve self-reliance, increase household incomes, and contribute directly to the local economy as job creators.
